After many years of campaigning, the people of the Skye & Raasay will finally have the high quality community secondary school facilities they justly deserve.
In mid-2008, PHS will move into a brand new building which is currently under construction. The building will also include under the same roof, wonderful new community facilities including a new swimming pool, a new library & archive, and an adult learning centre as well as a new games hall and performance venue.

The move to a new building comes at an important time for the school and provides a host of opportunities.
What should the community facility be called?
Should the school itself have a new name?
PARENT COUNCILS
There are also several other changes underway at the school. School Boards are being abolished to be replaced by Parent Forums.
Should PHS have a Parent Forum?
What form should the PHS Parent Forum take? Similar to current School Board, or different?
HMIE ACTION PLAN
The school is currently working on an action plan following the recent HMIE inspection, and many changes are underway to improve the school. The school is reviewing its values, vision and corporate identity - do you agree with those proposed or do you have an alternative view?
Should the move to a new building coincide with the reintroduction of a school uniform?
If so, what style of uniform should be selected?
The education authority, the school senior management team, the school board and the Friends wish to stimulate debate on all these issues and elicit the best ideas from the all stakeholders including parents, teachers, pupils and members of the wider community.
The 'Friends of PHS' has solicited a series of articles and is coordinated publication on this web site, by email broadcast and in the WHFP. We will also coordinate the feedback and submit this to the education authority and councillors who have responsibility for decisons made.
